Pet Cremation Options, Whats the right One?
When the time comes to say good-bye to your pet, who do you turn to? Many people go their trusted Pet Care Provider to hopefully guide them through the emotional decision making proses.
Know your options! There are three main categories, mass cremation, individual cremation, and private cremation.
Mass or communal cremation – As the name implies, this is the cremation of many animals at one time. After the cremation session is completed the ashes are gathered and disposed of by the crematory company. This option is the least expensive for the pet owner and is a sanitary and decent way to dispose of the pet, if retaining the ashes is not desired.
Individual Cremation – Individual cremation is a source of much confusion for pet owners. With this option the ashes that are returned to the pet owner are the ashes of their beloved pet only. There may be several pets cremated at one time but each pet is tagged with a metal tag and placed in there own metal tray. After the cremation proses the ashes from each tray are bagged for return to the pet owner.
Private Cremation/ Witnessed Private Cremation – provides the option for the pet to to be cremated entirely alone within the cremation chamber, ensuring that there are no other ashes mixed in with the singular pets ashes.

Cremation Urn, Size, Material?
When a loved one passes, one of the questions that will inevitably arise is how to memorialize them. A method that is rapidly gaining popularity is cremation. When the decision has been made to cremate, one important factor to consider is how large an urn to use.
The volume of cremation urns is measured in cubic inches. It is very simple to figure out how many cubic inches will be required for the cremation urn you choose to memorialize that special someone.
The general rule of thumb is one pound of live weight equals one cubic inch. This is not a perfect conversion rate, but it serves the purpose. The cremated remains of a 100 pound person will actually only create about 90 cubic inches of ashes, not the full 100. However this conversion is the standard used in order to ensure that you will have plenty of space in the water tight bag that goes inside of whichever decorative cremation urn you choose to memorialize your loved one.
After you have figured out the size of the vessel that you need, you will have to think about the type of urn you wish to use. There are a variety of styles and colors to choose from, but the material it is made out of is very important.
If you intend to bury your loved one after cremation, you will need a burial urn
Metal cremation urns are generally used for this purpose. A metal cremation urn will ensure that your beloved is protected and that the vessel they are resting in will stay intact for a very long time. If this is not as much of a concern, other materials may be used that biodegrade, and you can allow nature to take its natural course.
Urns made of porcelain, glass, wood, or other fragile materials are best suited for indoor memorials and above ground memorials. Choosing an indoor location offers you many more choices of style and materials, as any of the previously mentioned materials are also perfectly appropriate for any indoor setting. Decorative cremation urns, a unique cremation urn and many styles of art urns can serve this purpose nicely.
Resources are available today to get all the information you need on choosing proper cremation urns, as well as a huge variety of styles of urns available. The finest cremation urns are one of a kind and handmade, by artists who understand the importance of the item they are crafting.
Pet Urns, Cherishing A Lost Pets Memory
Pet cremation urns, an exemplary way of cherishing a lost pet’s memory. Our pets have shown loyalty and unconditional love while they were alive. Isn’t it appropriate to return that unconditional love by placing their remains in a respectable pet urn?
When you start looking for an urn or memorial for your pet, you may be surprised at the large array of choices. There are so many options to memorialize your pet and it is good to have an idea of what you are looking for before you start.
One important consideration that you must think about when choosing pet cremation urns is how the design of the urn will help you remember your pet. Just like people, pets have their own distinct personalities. If you are going to display the urn inside your home, you may want to pick something that will blend with your decor. If you are going to have the final resting place of your pet in a place of honor in your garden, you will need a pet cremation urn that is made from durable materials, such as ceramic, granite or marble. These materials will not perish under the elements.
Our pets loved us unconditionally while they were still alive. The best way to return the love that we received from them is to store their ashes in carefully selected pet cremation urns.
On The Other Side Of Grief
Some say that the loss of a beloved pet is one of life’s worst experiences. Stirring the same feelings as losing a dear family member or friend. For many of us our pets are our family, and best friend.
When you’ve just lost a dear pet, there seems to be nothing to ease the pain. The more recent the loss, the stronger the grief. This is when performing some sort of a memorial service will serve as a first step toward minimizing some of the initial pain.
Some people remove all the tangible items from sight that remind them of there loss. I think that’s a mistake. In this life we have three things. The first is right now! [the present] The second, our hopes and dreams of the future. The third, our treasured memories. Embrace those treasured memories, there all any us really have. When I would come home from work my best friend didn’t forget me.
With that thought in mind, enjoy the lasting friendship you shared. As time passes so will the tears, to be replaced with smiles and fond memories. Please visit my pet cremation urns, a place where memories live!
Saying Goodbye to a Family Friend
Our golden retriever, Skipper, was already well into the prime of his life when our son was born. Initially I was a bit worried that the dog would resent all of the attention foisted on the new baby, but he didn’t seem to mind at all. In fact, by the time our son had learned to walk, he would lean on Skipper for support. The dog and the kid basically grew up together, and they became inseparable.
My wife and I anticipated the difficult conversations that were destined to occur. As the dog grew old and arthritic, he lost sight in one eye. It was time to euthanize him, and we didn’t know how to break the news to our son – who was just 6 years old at the time. Rather than being dishonest about the whole thing, we patiently explained that Skipper had lived a good life and that we could always remember the great times with him. We sat down as a family and looked through suitable pet urns online. In the end, I believe we handled the situation with the grace and honesty that was required.
Evaluating Your Options

It’s never easy to prepare for the death of a loved one. Dealing with the impending death of a parent is especially difficult because you often have to talk about postmortem plans. For instance, will he or she be buried or cremated? What sort of memorial should be held? Are all of the finances in order – wills, estates, etc?
While burial has been a tradition for centuries, cremation is a growing trend. In lieu of a traditional service, many people request that their family go and spread their ashes at one of their favorite locales. Alternatively, they can be kept for posterity in memorial urns. Even though we all realize that our time on Earth is limited, the urn will continue to remind you of the quality moments you shared.
