It’s Hard to Say Goodbye

When my dog Sam died I was beside myself. Sam came into my life when my children were small. I watched him grow up alongside my children and they treated him just like another sibling. When my kids went off to university, Sam was my constant companion.

He led a full, long life, much longer than the average age of his breed. In the end he was very ill so I had to make the difficult decision to put him down. When he passed it felt as though my heart had been ripped out. I didn’t know what to do with his ashes, but fortunately a friend stepped forward and brought me a beautiful handcrafted pet urn to store Sam’s ashes. I keep him on a shelf in my bedroom with a little picture beside the urn to remind me of our happy times together.
