Selecting an Appropriate Urn
Families often spend many hours and thousands of dollars selecting the proper coffin for their deceased. However, when a person opts for cremation, the selection of an urn rarely garners the same attention. If you are planning to spread the ashes, a modestly priced receptacle will be fine, but if the ashes are going to remain displayed in your home or elsewhere, you probably will want to shop around.
Funeral urns shouldn’t just be a means of storing your loved one’s ashes, but they should also personify the person in some way. When my grandmother passed away last year, I knew I spent several days scouring local shops and the internet to find the perfect urn. While it was certainly an arduous process, finding an urn I knew my grandma would love served as a way for me to get some closure.
